The University of Vermont (UVM) Larner College of Medicine is committed to excellence in teaching, education, technology and research, with a focus ranging from population heath—spanning rural primary care to global health—to opportunities for academic and research innovation.

The College of Medicine is home to Public Health Projects, a required course implemented in 2004 that teaches students to apply the principles and science of public health while working to improve the health of the community. Each year several student leaders present their projects at national professional meetings, such as the American Public Health Association’s (APHA) Annual Meeting. Public Health Projects are directed by Jan K. Carney, MD, MPH, associate dean for public health.

The MPH program is 100% online and is open to students anywhere in the world. Class sizes range from 15 to 25 students.
