Public Health Schools and MPH Programs in Colorado

While there is only one public health school in Colorado that offers Master of Public Health (MPH) programs and accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health(CEPH), prospective students still have over ten concentration options to choose from. For public health graduates, Colorado is also home to many public health careers with positive outlooks, such as biostatisticians, health specialties professors, and medical and health services managers or healthcare administrators, all of which are projected to be in greater-than-average demand nationally.

The CEPH-accredited MPH programs offered by the Colorado School of Public Health are delivered by three collaborating institutions: CU Anschutz Medical Campus (Aurora), Colorado State University (Fort Collins) and University of Northern Colorado (Greeley). Students who are interested in specific concentrations should pay attention to which campus offers each degree. There are also two concentrations that students can complete entirely online: Leadership and Public Health Practice and Population Mental Health and Well-being.

While it is important to consider all options when choosing a degree program, busy working professionals may find online education a reasonable path to pursue in the field. Online MPH programs can provide students with the flexibility needed to continue working in their current position and can be more accommodating to a busy schedule.
