Bachelor’s to Master’s Dual Degree

With the healthcare field rapidly growing, joint bachelors to Masters in Public Health programs are becoming more popular.

These joint or dual degrees allow students to earn their bachelor’s degree, along with their MPH in a five-year span. The way how this works is students apply to the program during their sophomore or junior year and, if accepted, students will then take graduate-level MPH courses during the last two years of their undergraduate study. Depending on the school/program, some of the graduate-level courses taken during junior and senior year will count toward both Bachelor and MPH degrees, while other courses will only count toward the MPH degree. This allows for students to earn two degrees in a shorter amount of time than it would to earn them separately; therefore allowing students to get into the public health workforce faster.
